While I pack up my humble possessions for my move to Spain at the end of this week, the Herschel spacecraft is being unpacked and checked after its arrival at the Centre Spatial Guyanais at Kourou, French Guyana.

I'm glad that the 3.5-metre Herschel primary mirror arrived without a scratch. I hope next week I can say the same about my glassware and crockery.
